Jason Horrell

English is my first language. I grew up in the United States, where I worked as a lawyer for almost 15 years before moving to Spain in 2026. In addition to my law degree, I have a master’s degree in peace and conflict studies, and I’ve been trained in narrative mediation.
Now, I’m a Cambridge-certified English teacher (CELTA, International House Madrid). My experience and training give me a deep understanding of the power that words hold, as well as an appreciation for the incredible nuances of the English language.
I’m also a language learner myself. I’m currently working to advance my Spanish to level C1 (CERF). I studied at Middlebury Language Schools in Vermont, and I’m currently working with an online tutor from Colombia. My husband is from Bogotá, and he helps me improve my Spanish every day at home.
I’m a member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. I keep up with the best practices in English teaching so that my students can trust me to teach them well.
